Job summary

Advocate Health's radiology department in Kenosha is seeking a part-time student radiology assistant. You’ll support imaging technologists, prepare exam rooms, verify patient identity, and help with patient transport under supervision.

Responsibilities include data entry, safety procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation in RIS/PACS. Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required; ARRT certification must be obtained within 120 days of graduation.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of 12 months training in an accredited Radiology program.
• Anticipated completion, as verified by program director, from an ARRT-accredited Radiography program.
• Successful completion and documentation of clinical competencies in Chest, Abdomen, Spine and Pelvis, Head, Upper/Lower Extremity, Thorax, IVP and Fluoroscopy.
• Must possess good communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Support imaging technologists with patient prep and exam room setup.
• Verify patient identification and explain procedures, obtain history, and address questions.
• Assist patient transfer to/from exam rooms and transport patients as needed.
• Use radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient info.
• Document images and records in SmartChart, RIS and PACS under supervision.
• Position patients and set exposure factors following safety protocols; cannot activate exposure switches.
