Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time radiology support technician to transport patients, assist with exams, and coordinate with radiologists and technologists. The role requires basic life support and high school diploma with no experience required.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, maintaining exam rooms, and handling routine communications. The position offers benefits eligibility and a 24-hour-per-week schedule with varying hours.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
• High School Graduate.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between departments and escorts patients, families, and visitors as needed.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient information.
• Assists patient in preparation for exam and transferring patients to and from exam rooms.
• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
• Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information, schedules patient appointments, and takes messages.
• Acts as a liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provides radiology reports and/or radiographic images to staff, physicians, patients and/or family upon request.
• Documents requested information and communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient with physicians and health-care team.
• Performs routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment.
