Job summary

| Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a CT Tech to perform CT procedures and produce high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist will verify orders, prepare patients, and operate CT equipment with attention to safety and accuracy.

The role requires ARRT CT eligibility or certification, NJ licensing, and BLS certification. You will collaborate with radiologists to ensure optimal study quality and patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

License: NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License

Description:The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques.They produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures.The technologist performs complex CT procedures.They use professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining the clinical history for procedures.This ensures that information is documented and scanned into PACS.They prepare, screen, and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with the patient and/or family member and scan it into the system.The technologist identifies and/or administers contrast media related to CT exams prescribed by a licensed practitioner.They review the patient prescription to verify the appropriateness of the exam.If incorrect, they communicate with the radiologist and referring physician to obtain additional clinical information or a new prescription.Responsible for calling physicians to clarify the prescription in accordance with appropriate CT protocols.They verify the insurance authorized exam script and send exam modification forms for insurance re-verification.They obtain outside studies and schedule them in the system to ensure availability for radiologists.Responsible for providing exam copies to the patient and requesting physician or family member.The technologist evaluates radiographs using the PACS system to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.They gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and health care providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.Determination of the patient's preparation for the procedure is required.The technologist prepares patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.They determine the appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered.Providing accurate explanations and instructions at the appropriate time at a level the patient can understand is essential.The technologist addresses and documents patient questions and concerns regarding the procedure when appropriate.They perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.Monitoring the patient's physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedure is critical.They adhere to the policy of employee ID, standards of behavior, attendance, and punctuality.The role requires lifting a minimum of 25 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 50 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours a day.The technologist modifies and delivers care specific to the needs of the patient population served, including age, culture, and language.This process involves communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver at their level.The technologist adheres to the standards identified in the organization's competencies and standards of behavior.
