Job summary

Must be currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or have a GED/HSE or high school diploma, with strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture, based on departmentneed.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of patients,staffand physicians.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including experience in using computer applications/systems and electronic mail.
• Must be able to follow directions and work well both independently and with technologists, physicians, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in preparation for exam and provide basic instruction for routine procedures.
• Transport patients between exam rooms/departments and escort patients, families, and visitors as needed.
• Organize and prepare exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment.
• Greet patients and visitors and respond to routine information requests; assist with reports or film loans.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and take messages when needed; liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports and/or imaging to staff and physicians as requested.
• File, retrieve, and release health information records and films; manage film jackets/discs and forms.
