Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a Radiological Engineer to provide oversight and directional guidance for radiological work at the Groton Shipyard and NRMD. You will coordinate with Nuclear Operations, NNPP, and Naval Reactors stakeholders to ensure compliance, safety, and efficient operations.

Requirements include a BS in engineering, 5+ years of related technical experience, and the ability to obtain a full secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of directly related technical experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full secret clearance with interim secret clearance before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiological oversight and technical direction for radiological work at Groton Shipyard and NRMD.
• Prepare and process radioactive shipments per DOT and IATA rules.
• Coordinate with NNPP and Shipyard stakeholders to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Develop radiological controls and maintain radiological status of ships/facilities.
• Investigate and mitigate radiological issues and ensure proper documentation.
