Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking an Allied Health Director to lead the Radiologic Technology (RADT) program within the Health Sciences Department. The role includes program leadership, curriculum development, accreditation oversight, and teaching a limited number of courses.

The position is based at Montgomery College's Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses with a hybrid work option (telework 1 day/week) and requires strong leadership and regulatory compliance experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT certification in good standing.
  • Maryland Radiographer State License in good standing or eligibility to obtain.
  • Two years of full-time post-secondary teaching in radiologic technology.
  • Three years of clinical radiology experience.
  • Three years of demonstrated leadership experience in a JCERT accredited environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Radiologic Technology program including faculty recruitment, mentoring, workload assignments, scheduling and performance feedback.
  • Lead curriculum development, assessment and accreditation activities to ensure alignment of program goals, student learning outcomes and professional standards within the program.
  • Maintain documentation to support program accreditation and compliance with JRCERT standards.
  • Manage the program budget and instructional resources in collaboration with the program clinical coordinator and faculty.
  • Oversee student recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, retention, and progression and ensure access to student academic advising, clinical placements, and support services.
  • Ensure clinical site medical/background requirements compliance for students in the program.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends in radiologic technology and healthcare delivery to drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Assume the role of Radiation Protection Officer for monitoring student exposure records and equipment compliance.
  • Manage equipment upkeep and repair as needed.
  • Collaborate with Health Sciences leadership and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and program planning.
  • Represent and advocate for the program within and outside the College.
  • Maintain advisory committees and partnerships with external stakeholders for program quality and workforce development.
  • Teach a limited number of courses, including visiting clinical sites to evaluate student progress in clinical practicum.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
