Job summary

Montgomery College is seeking an Allied Health Director for the Radiologic Technology program. The role leads curriculum development, accreditation, budgeting, and student support across the RADT program, while teaching a limited number of courses and coordinating clinical sites.

The position requires strong leadership, JRCERT knowledge, and state licensure, with a telework option of 1 day per week. Open until filled, starting January 2027 in Rockville, MD.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
• Current ARRT certification in good standing.
• Current Maryland Radiographer State License in good standing, or eligibility to obtain a Radiographer Maryland License.
• Two years of full-time teaching at the post-secondary level in radiologic technology in a JCERT-certified program.
• Three years clinical experience in radiology.
• Three years of demonstrated leadership experience (i.e. program coordinator or director of a currently accredited JRCERT program/project chair).
• In-depth knowledge of JRCERT standards related to program outcomes, faculty qualifications, curriculum, student support, and resources.
• Knowledge of program evaluation models, student learning outcomes assessment, and continuous quality improvement processes.
• Knowledge of current trends in radiologic technology workforce needs, and healthcare delivery.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reports, self-studies, policies, and liaising with accrediting bodies.
• The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Radiologic Technology program including faculty recruitment, mentoring, professional development, workload assignments, scheduling and performance feedback.
• Lead curriculum development, assessment and accreditation activities to ensure alignment of program goals, student learning outcomes and professional standards within the program.
• Maintain documentation and records to support program accreditation and compliance with JRCERT accreditation standards.
• Manage the program budget and instructional resources in collaboration with the program clinical coordinator and faculty.
• Oversee student recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, retention, and progression and ensure access to student academic advising, clinical placements, and support services.
• Teach a limited number of courses, including visiting clinical sites to evaluate student progress in the clinical practicum of the program.
• Assume the role of Radiation Protection Officer in monitoring student exposure records and maintaining compliance of imaging machines in accordance to Maryland Dept. Of Environment requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Montgomery College, Takoma Park, Silver Spring Campus, has a needfor a full-time Allied Health Director for the RadiologicTechnology (RADT) program in the Health Sciences Department,starting January 2027. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am– 5:00 pm. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 33 position.Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learningenvironment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, belonging, andinclusiveness. The RADT Allied Health Director provides leadership and fostersinnovation in support of the departmental goals and ensures thatvision and goals are aligned with the College's vision, mission,and strategic plans. The incumbent oversees planning,implementation, and evaluation of the Radiologic Technology programin compliance with institutional goals, accreditation standards,and state/national regulations. The RADT Allied Health Directoralso teaches a limited number of courses contributing to classroomand clinical instruction in the program.

The RADT Allied Health Director’s contacts include administrators,faculty, staff, students, the public, and education, business,government, and community organizations to advance programobjectives and resolve issues.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Manage equipment upkeep and repair as needed.
• Collaborate with Health Sciences Dean, Allied Health Directorsand Department Chair, faculty and external stakeholders to supportstrategic initiatives, program planning and operationaleffectiveness.
• Represent and advocate for the program in college-wide workgroups and outside of the College to academic, industry, andprofessional communities.
• Maintain an active advisory committee and partnerships withexternal stakeholders through ongoing communication, regularmeetings, collaboration and outreach to support program quality,education and workforce development.
• Teach a limited number of courses, including visiting clinicalsites to evaluate student(s) progress in the clinical practicum ofthe program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications (ie: CT, MRI, Radiation Therapy,Nuclear Medicine, Mammography) or other current additional imagingcertifications.

Hiring Range:

Hiring Range: $88,876 - $122,205 annually. Initial salaryplacement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint ofthe range and is based on relevant candidate experience andinternal equity. The maximum salary for this position is$155,534.
