Job description



Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation.



Responsibilities:



  • Prepares patients for exams, explains procedures in layman's terms to reduce anxiety, and obtains consent forms if necessary.

  • Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positions patients, and adjusts immobilization/support devices. Operates equipment to obtain correct exposures, monitors patient condition, and reports abnormalities to the Radiologist. Enters patient data and manages digital image transfer and archiving.

  • Processes, labels, and maintains images, ensuring proper identification and record-keeping. Uses film markers and verifies image labeling accuracy. Documents exams in logs and tracks each examination appropriately.

  • Performs related duties as required.




Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.

  • Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the New York State Department of Health.

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing radiologic exams.
