Job description



Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation.



Responsibilities:



  1. Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures in layman's terms to reduce anxiety and obtains necessary consent forms.

  2. Performs various x-ray exams following established standards and procedures. Positions patients correctly and adjusts immobilization devices as needed. Operates equipment to obtain proper exposures, monitors patient condition, and reports any abnormalities to the Radiologist. Enters patient data and maintains accurate records.

  3. Processes and maintains images, ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Handles film and digital image archiving according to protocols.

  4. Performs related duties as required.




Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.

  • Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the New York State Department of Health.

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Certified in BLS by the American Heart Association.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing radiologic exams.
