Job description



Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation.



Responsibilities:



  • Prepares patients for examinations, alleviating pre-test anxiety by explaining procedures in layman's terms based on professional knowledge. Ensures consent forms are obtained when necessary.

  • Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures of the division. Positions patients properly for radiographs, adjusts immobilization and supportive devices, and operates equipment to obtain correct exposures. Monitors patients' conditions, recognizes and reports abnormalities, and records pertinent information.

  • Processes and maintains images, labels films correctly, and ensures proper documentation and tracking for each examination.

  • Performs related duties as required.




Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.

  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.
