Full Time X-Ray Tech

Quick Visit Urgent Care offers a great working environment where patient care is our priority. The ideal candidate is experienced, certified with ARRT, team-oriented, and has a positive background in patient care and radiologic technology.

Position Summary

The X-Ray Tech/Medical Assistant provides basic clinical care, performs initial evaluations, and conducts radiologic testing, including body mechanics and patient movement, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and physiology. They prepare patients for further evaluation by taking histories, vital signs, and x-rays.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Greet patients politely and promptly.
  • Check patients in and out, ensuring smooth patient flow.
  • Communicate wait times and treatment steps to patients.
  • Address patient problems and recognize emergencies.
  • Follow up on lab and x-ray results.
  • Assist with patient check-in/out as needed.
  • Document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, etc.
  • Administer medications as ordered and within licensure.
  • Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, draw blood, and handle specimens.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, following safety protocols.
  • Ensure equipment functionality and report malfunctions.
  • Complete documentation and maintain the examination room.
  • Follow infection control and confidentiality policies.
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other procedures as trained.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain honesty and integrity in all transactions.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
X-Ray Job Description
  • Perform radiologic imaging per standards and protocols.
  • Explain procedures and maintain patient comfort and safety.
  • Provide images in required formats.
  • Conduct equipment quality checks and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain a clean environment and follow quality assurance guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Education
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology or LMRT program.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Requirements
  • Registered with ARRT or eligible, with a current Iowa license.
  • Professional, ethical, and capable of high-quality imaging.
  • Assist radiologists in exam interpretation.
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and sound judgment.
  • Able to lift at least 60 pounds and assist with patient movement.
  • Demonstrate competency in all relevant areas.
Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, including weekends.
