Job summary

DMC Receiving Hospital in Detroit, MI is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to verify patient identity, set up imaging, and communicate results under the radiologist's supervision. This full-time day shift role requires ARRT(R) licensing and BLS.

You will contribute to patient care, maintain safety, participate in quality initiatives, and educate staff and residents. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered based on experience.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered in Radiography (R).
• BLS (Healthcare Provider) completion by orientation end.
• Ability to explain procedures to patients.
• Experience with imaging and radiology processes.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for exam appropriateness.
• Interviews patient to obtain/update medical history and assess risk factors.
• Explains procedures, side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives and follow-up.
• Sets up equipment and acquires images per script.
• Reviews images, notes deviations, communicates data to radiologist.
• Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as needed.
• Provides physician-prescribed post-care instructions.
• Participates in quality improvements and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Educates residents, students, and new staff on imaging.
• Able to take call/standby as required by the department.
