Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Registered Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging per protocol while upholding patient safety and confidentiality. The role requires ARRT(R) certification and Maryland licensure, with a per diem schedule and 8 hours per week, evenings (every other Saturday).

The ideal candidate will have AMA/JRCERT accreditation, BLS, and 1 year radiography experience; opportunity to train students and participate in quality

Qualifications

• Graduated from AMA/JRCERT accredited radiography program or possess an associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
• ARRT R.T.(R) certification.
• Maryland Radiologic Technologist license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• 1 year radiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol and identify patients and orders.
• Accurately document in HIS, RIS, and PACS systems.
• Monitor and assist patients before, during, and after examinations; maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Apply ALARA principles, including proper shielding.
• Maintain patient, organizational and staff confidentiality.
• Provide age-appropriate care (pediatrics, geriatric, adolescents).
• Explain procedures and answer patient questions; handle scheduling with flexibility.
• Assist in orienting new employees and radiography students; participate in PI projects.

Registered Radiologic Technologist

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Registered Radiologic Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol. Properly identifies patients, reviews order and selects diagnostic x-ray protocol in order to maximize quality and safe patient care.
• Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS,).
• Monitor and assists patients, before during and after examinations. Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Knowledgeable and practices ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients.
• Maintain patient, organizational and employee confidentiality.
• Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients we serve i.e., pediatrics, geriatric and adolescent patients.
• Receive patients, explains procedures and answers all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
• Maintain schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume.
• Assist in orienting new employees, and training radiography students.
• Participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school or GED
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)
• 1 year’s radiography experience preferred
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
• State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule: This is a per diem position with a rate of $45/hour.
