Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Registered Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging per protocol and ensure high-quality, safe patient care. The role requires ARRT certification, state license, and BLS, with a per diem schedule at $45/hour.

Responsibilities include assisting patients, maintaining documentation in HIS/RIS/PACS, and supporting training of radiography students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography or an associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT R.T.(R) certification and Maryland State Radiation Technologist license are required.
• BLS certification is required at hire and maintained.

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Registered Radiologic Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Radiologic Technologist you will:

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol. Properly identifies patients, reviews order and selects diagnostic x-ray protocol in order to maximize quality and safe patient care.
• Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS,).
• Monitor and assists patients, before during and after examinations. Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Knowledgeable and practices ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients.
• Maintain patient, organizational and employee confidentiality.
• Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients we serve i.e., pediatrics, geriatric and adolescent patients.
• Receive patients, explains procedures and answers all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
• Maintain schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume.
• Assist in orienting new employees, and training radiography students.
• Participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• High school or GED
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography/and OR associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred)
• 1 year’s radiography experience preferred
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R)
• State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule:

• This is aperdiemposition with a rate of $45/hour
• Employment Type: Per Diem
