Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Technologist at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC. The role involves performing diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring accurate patient demographics, and delivering high-quality images using RIS, PACS, and HIS workflows.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, maintaining safety and image quality, and documenting in RIS with timely transmission to PACS.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program; degree to be completed within 90 days if applicable.
• Registered by ARRT or eligible with registry within 1 year; maintain ongoing CEU requirements.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology and adheres to protocols; obtain RT(R) credentials and troubleshoot equipment.
• Verify patient identity and demographics; ensure correct exam requests; document in RIS and transmit to PACS.
• Perform and document routine radiographic procedures to acquire diagnostic data with timely, quality images.
• Review orders, check demographics, maintain clean, safe work environment; communicate improvement opportunities to supervisor.
• Utilize RIS, CIS, PACS and SMS to access information, modify orders for appropriateness, and transmit results.
• Assess patient condition, verify pregnancy status when applicable, provide needed assistance and respond to emergencies.
