Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiology equipment, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and support patient-centered care. You will follow physician orders, apply ALARA principles, and collaborate with radiologists and staff to ensure accurate images and safe procedures.

The role includes instructing patients, maintaining equipment, and utilizing RIS/EMR/PACS, with opportunities to work with students and potentially assist at reception as needed.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a 2 year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the AMA.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiology equipment to produce diagnostic images following physician orders.
  • Instruct and assist patients, ensuring proper positioning and patient comfort.
  • Perform radiographic procedures (fixed and portable) and review images for technical quality.
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and radiation safety guidelines.
  • Utilize RIS, EMR and PACS per established guidelines.
  • Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and safe handling procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and colleagues; handle phone duties as needed.
  • Exercise clinical judgment within scope of practice.
  • May work with students and assist at reception or phones to schedule appointments.
