Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures, mentor junior staff, and ensure patient safety and comfort. The role requires completion of an approved radiologic technology program and ARRT certification considerations.

A flexible schedule and travel between facilities may be required. Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, using RIS, verifying orders, and ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient privacy and safety

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program is required.
• No prior work experience is required; radiologic technology experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems (RIS) to facilitate care.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment per protocol; may place NG tubes, IVs, catheters, and administer contrast.
• Reviews images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs quality control per regulatory standards and documents remediation.
• Supports departmental operations (inventory, staffing, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to patient populations, respecting privacy and explaining services.
• Performs other related duties as required.
