RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey seeks a Radiologic Technologist Lead to provide specialized imaging for medical interpretation in the Radiology Diagnostic department.

Required: ARRT Certification, NJ radiology license, and BLS (AHA). Preferred: two years of radiology technician experience; night shift support with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification in Radiation Technology is required.
• NJ radiology license is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiographic images or position fluoroscopic equipment as instructed.
• Minimize radiation exposure while obtaining quality images.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Select and prepare contrast media for radiographic exams and special studies.
• Process radiographic images and upload to PACS.
• Identify patients and mark correct body part on images.
• Process x-ray requests.
• Assist in instruction of student technologists.
• Demonstrate radiographic technique to student radiographers.

Job Overview

To provide a specialized image of a body part for purposes of medical interpretation.

Qualifications

Required:

• ARRT Certification in Radiation Technology required.
• NJ radiology license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Preferred:

• Minimum of two (2) years of radiology technician experience strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

• Providing radiographic images or positioning fluoroscopic equipment, as instructed.
• Minimization of radiation exposure.
• Ensuring patient comfort.
• Selection and preparation of any contrast media used in conjunction with radiographic examinations as well as special examinations.
• Processing radiographic images going to PACS.
• Patient identification and indication of correct body part on all radiographic images.
• Processing x-ray requests.
• Assists in instruction of student technologists.
• Is able to demonstrate the technical art to student radiographers.
