Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures, ensure patient safety, and act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students. The role requires certification and ongoing compliance with licensing and BLS standards.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, patient education, image quality review, and coordination of departmental tasks. Candidates must be able to travel between facilities as needed and maintain high safety and quality

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to suit diverse patient populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
