Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an Associates Degree in Radiology Studies.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and set exposure factors for routine x-rays, portable x-rays, and fluoroscopy.
• Explain procedures to patients and gain cooperation.
• Minimize radiation exposure through protection techniques and shielding.
• Follow infection-control policies and manage reactions to contrast media.
• Develop and quality-check radiographs; adjust as needed.
• Document patient care in charts and department records.
• Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment; order parts as needed.
• Manage supplies inventory and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
