Job summary

University Health in Texas seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures with appropriate supervision and a high degree of independent judgment. The role requires applying prescribed ionizing radiation to obtain radiographic diagnosis while adhering to Health System policies and procedures.

You will support the Radiology team and ensure patient safety and comfort. Ideal candidates are ARRT-registered or eligible, hold MRT/TMRT certification, and maintain current BLS CPR/AED

Qualifications

  • ARRT registration or eligibility with one-year grace period.
  • Texas MRT Certification or TMRT certification.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level with independent judgment.
  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
  • Maintain good working relationships with co-workers, patients, and guests.

Job description

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Performs radiologic procedures within the professional parameters established in registry requirements and policy and procedures specifications of the Health System. Assumes responsibility for assigned duties promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from supervisor to whom responsible. Contributes to the overall success of the Radiology team. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health employees, patients and guests.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, or eligibility to take the registry with one year grace period for new graduates from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Texas Department of Health (MRT) Certification or a temporary Certification (TMRT) is required. Must also have current Certified BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association.
