Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), Division of Nuclear Safety.
• Preferred: advanced registry in CT and/or Mammography.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients of all ages for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Provide patient and family education regarding imaging procedures and equipment.
• Determine proper positioning, technique, and exposure factors to obtain diagnostic images.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, staff, and self.
• Document procedures and communicate patient status to the care team.
• Operate portable radiography equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain imaging equipment cleanliness and stock supplies.
• Perform CT, mammography, or ultrasound exams if credentialed.
• Transport patients as needed and assist with workflow.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
