Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging under supervision, ensuring patient safety and quality through proper positioning and technique. The role emphasizes radiation protection, documentation, and collaboration with licensed practitioners.

The ideal candidate holds ARRT certification with state licensure and BLS, and has experience in radiology information systems.

Qualifications

• Associates from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
• BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for certain Mercy locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care)

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient’s clinical history and lab work for licensed practitioner use
• Positions and immobilizes patient to demonstrate anatomy of interest
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories
• Verifies informed consent and completes documentation
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic procedures and aseptic technique
• Performs required timeouts
• Identifies, prepares and administers medications/contrast as prescribed
