Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging under the direction of an authorized user, ensuring safe use of ionizing radiation and accurate image capture. The role emphasizes patient comfort, history documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

The position requires ARRT certification and state licensure where applicable, with BLS required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required or preferred depending on location.
• State licensure may be required by state law and is preferred.
• BLS certification is required at hire for some Mercy Health locations and prior to independent care at others.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient's clinical history and lab work; documents for licensed practitioner use.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to optimize imaging while considering comfort.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories.
• Verifies consent and completes pre/post procedure documentation.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopy and specialized radiography; maintains aseptic technique.
• Performs timeouts as required by policy.
• Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed.
