Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with safety protocols. The role includes mentoring junior staff and students, and supporting operations across facilities.

Required ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days, current state license, and BLS certification. Flexibility for a 24/7 schedule and travel between facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification or registry eligibility or temporary state license by start date.
• Current unrestricted license in state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment to complete procedures per protocol.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
• Performs quality control and notifies/remediates as needed.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, scheduling, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to the patient population and privacy considerations.
