Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology procedures, assist radiologists, and ensure high-quality imaging. The role includes patient assessments, safety protocols, and coordination of images via PACS and RIS in a 40-hour work week.

Certification requirements include ARRT registration or eligibility with 1-year to obtain, and BLS. Education requires an Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent, with on-site responsibilities

Qualifications

Associate degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
Registered by ARRT or registry eligible and become registered within one year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology protocols and adheres to UNC procedures.
Ensures patient data and exam requests are correct, saves and transmits images to PACS, documents in RIS.
Performs routine radiology procedures and analyzes requests to plan examinations.
Maintains safe environment, reports equipment issues, and ensures patient safety during procedures.
Uses RIS, CIS, PACS and SMS to access information and document procedure status.
