Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine diagnostic imaging and support radiologists with contrast media administration. You will work with PACS/RIS systems, ensure data accuracy, and maintain patient safety in a 40-hour work week.

The role requires ARRT certification or registry-eligible status with within-one-year completion, BLS, and an associate degree or equivalent radiologic program. Onsite, day schedule, benefits via UNC Health.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. If degree is not yet complete, candidates may be selected contingent on completing a degree program within 90 days of hire.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledgable of radiation protection and safety in addition to general and electrical safety, infection control, TB and standard precautions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology; adheres to protocols and maintains RT(R) credentials.
• Ensures patient demographics and orders are correct; saves and transmits images to PACS; documents procedures in RIS.
• Conducts routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire diagnostic data.
• Performs quality radiographic images, analyzes orders and images, and maintains a safe work environment.
• Uses RIS, CIS, PACS and SMS to access and document procedure status.
