Job Description

The Radiology Technician operates X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts, performs quality control checks, and maintains necessary documentation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Translate examination procedures into layman's terms to alleviate patient anxiety.
  • Perform various X-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
  • Position patients appropriately for radiographs following departmental protocols.
  • Recognize and report patient motor abnormalities or reactions to the Radiologist promptly.
  • Operate equipment for transferring images to film and archiving digital images.
  • Use film markers and ensure images are correctly labeled as right or left side.
  • Ensure images are properly labeled with date and patient identification.
  • Enter patient history and relevant data from requisitions into the system.
  • Assist with immobilization and supportive devices as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as required, considering all essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Job Qualifications
  • Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
  • Current license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in New York State.
  • Current ARRT Radiology registration required.
  • 0-3 years of relevant technical experience required.
Additional Details
  • 1-2 years of fluoroscopy experience preferred.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday (8 am - 8 pm) and rotating weekends (9 am - 2 pm).
