Job summary

Geisinger in Mount Rock, Pennsylvania is seeking a Radiological Technologist responsible for performing standardized radiological and fluoroscopic examinations. This role includes educating patients on radiation safety and preparing them for procedures.

The ideal candidate must have a specialty training program education and experience in diagnostic imaging. Certification in CPR and as a Radiology Technologist is required. Comprehensive healthcare benefits are offered from day one of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (AHA) required.
• Certification as a Certified Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized radiological and fluoroscopic examinations, including patient positioning, technique, and equipment operation.
• Verify correct order and patient identification; review patient body size, thickness, age, and suspected pathology to determine appropriate exam.
• Assist physicians with procedures and utilize digital technology for image production.
• Quality assurance of images sent to PACS.
• Prepare patients for procedures, manage immobilization devices and exposure factors.
• Educate patients and minimize radiation exposure using protection techniques and beam-restrictive devices.
• Maintain radiology equipment, complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and manage inventory.
• Manage radiology supplies inventory, place orders, and verify receipt.
• Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment, comply with infection‑control policies, and administer first aid for adverse reactions.
• Document patient care services in patient and department records.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a specialty training program (required).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year related work experience (preferred).
• Certification: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (AHA) and Certified Radiology Technologist (ARRT).
