Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Radiologic Technologist responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Candidates will perform a full range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures while ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols.

The ideal applicant will have graduated from a recognized Radiologic Technology program and possess or be willing to obtain the ARRT-R registry. Full-time and part-time positions come with comprehensive healthcare benefits starting from the first day.

Qualifications

• New graduates must obtain an ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire.
• Applicants hired after March 10, 2024 must complete steps for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.

Job Summary

Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of a licensed practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocol, optimize technical factors, maximize patient safety, and apply principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
• Prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality, verify archival storage and/or transfer of data, and perform post-processing if applicable.
• Educate and monitor students and other health‑care providers.
• Assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic and non‑interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including those outside the Radiology Department (e.g., Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU).
• Work in a clinical environment and comply with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
