Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations in a clinical setting. You will operate imaging equipment, ensure correct patient positioning, and maintain accurate records while adhering to safety protocols.

You will review patient parameters, assist physicians as needed, and participate in QA/QC and student education. This is a full-time clinical role within Geisinger's Radiology Department.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification within 24 months and BLS certification.
  • Ability to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with proper technique.

Responsibilities

  • Perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using correct positioning and exposure.
  • Operate modality equipment.
  • Set up and adjust immobilization and radiation protective devices.
  • Review patient size, age, and condition to guide exams.
  • Assist physicians with procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and request repairs.
  • Maintain related records and notations.
  • Participate in QA/QC procedures as required.
  • Participate in education and training of students.

Job Duties

  • Performs standardized radiological radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient position, identification and exposure techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within modality.
  • Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
  • Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
  • Assists physician with various procedures.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintains related records and notations.
  • Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
  • Participates in the educational training of students.
