Geisinger in the United States is seeking Radiologic Technologists to administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes and to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures for diagnosis under licensed supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required).
• Certified Radiology Technologist (ARRT) within 24 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Uses imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, ALARA principles.
• Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable quality; verifies archival storage and transfer of data.
• Educates and monitors students and other health care providers.
• Assists the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performs diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.
• Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
• Fully proficient in routine and complex duties, including Operating Room procedures.
• Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.

Job Duties

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
• Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including those procedures performed outside of the Radiology Department (i.e., Operating room, Endoscopy, ICU, etc.).
• Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
• Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties., including all procedures in the Operating Room.
• Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.
