Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Radiographer (RAD Tech) to join our Radiology department on a PRN, days schedule. You will assist radiologists, position patients, and perform imaging procedures with attention to safety and quality.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certified, with BCLS and CPI readiness, and has experience or willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. We offer supportive teamwork and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required or Associate's Degree preferred.
  • AR RT certification required upon hire.
  • BCLS and CPI readiness required before independent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to exam.
  • Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest.
  • Perform complex procedures with age-related criteria.
  • Adjust technique parameters for age-related factors.
  • Assist radiologist with complex/invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • Maintain attention to detail during imaging.
  • Process and manipulate images; troubleshoot and adjust techniques as needed.
  • Send images to PACS and ensure correct transfer.

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093
Work hours: PRN, Days

Here's What You Need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire required or
  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • 1 Year radiologic technologist experience preferred
  • GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB upon hire required and
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI - Crises Prevention Intervention within 90 days required
What You Will Do
  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam
  • Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
  • Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
  • Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
  • Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
  • Maintain attention to details
  • Process and manipulate images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
  • Utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RIS
  • Correctly send and transfer images to PACS
  • Print laser images from modality or PACS
  • Coordinate with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities
