Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology professional to perform routine imaging studies and support high-quality patient care. The role emphasizes accurate requisition review, patient identification, and selection of appropriate imaging factors, with an emphasis on ALARA principles and patient safety.

The candidate will work within the Diagnostic Radiology department, training in QA workflows and high reliability concepts while upholding departmental standards and safety

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
• ARRT certification is required.
• MA Radiographer license is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts.
• Identify patients using hospital policy with two identifiers.
• Selects equipment and factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assess patients' physical and emotional status and develop a care plan.

Job description

Position Summary

Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
• Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
• Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
• Practices High Reliability Training.

Minimum Requirements: Education

• An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred

• Training in Diagnostic Radiology

License/Certifications

• MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.
