Job summary

Crisp Regional Health Services in Georgia is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team under the Director. You will perform radiographic procedures with minimal supervision, ensuring cross-age patient care and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent certificate in Radiology.
  • Experience: Entry level; up to 2 years or equivalent combination.
  • Licensure: ARRT certification and current BLS; maintain ARRT/BLS as required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic studies using C‑arm and portable equipment.
  • Maintains sterile technique and protocol during procedures.

  • Identifies and reports health and safety hazards to maintain a safe environment.
  • Mentors new employees and participates in in-service programs.

Position Summary

Under the leadership of the Director, Medical Imaging, the Radiologic Technologist is an active member of the Medical Imaging team that delivers professional medical imagining services consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy, and direction of the department and CRHS. The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal to no supervision from the Director. This position maintains the qualifications to provide care for patients across the full spectrum of age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal to no supervision from the Director. Basic Qualifications
  • Education: Requires an Associate’s degree in Radiology or Radiologic Sciences or the successful completion of a technical or vocational certificate
  • Experience: This is an entry level job that requires up to two years of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Licensure, Registrations& Certifications: Requires current valid license, and/or registration or certifications as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the health care team members to ensure the patient's well-being as evidenced by staff/client feedback.
  • Conducts basic radiologic studies using C-arm and portable equipment within the department, ED, or in surgery suites.
  • Employs the use of sterile techniques and protocol during surgical procedures.
  • Processes and demonstrates a detailed knowledge of positioning and anatomy to facilitate the desired views as per physician orders.
  • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team with positive interpersonal communication skills when communicating with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff in all departments of the organization.
  • Operates within the A.L.A.R.A radiation standards of care.
  • Obtains required billing data and account registration ensuring that the ordered procedure is appropriate for the diagnosis on the requisition.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees through identifying, correcting and reporting health and safety hazards.
  • Ensures the use of all necessary protective and monitoring equipment (badges, aprons, etc.) for self and others throughout the work shift.
  • Evaluates Medical Imaging quality, satisfaction, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
  • Works to continually identify new approaches that improve the quality and timeliness of Medical Imaging services provided.
  • Uses appropriate IV Sterile techniques in the administration of diagnostic contrast media and is knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of reactions.
  • Follows all department policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Participates in staff development programs, CEU classes as mandated by ARRT, and regularly scheduled in-service programs.
  • Mentors' new employees as requested.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
