Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Radiologic Technologist to perform routine imaging examinations on a scheduled and emergency basis, following QC and Exam Data Integrity workflow expectations. You will assess patient status, explain procedures, and ensure ALARA principles are applied.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, MA Radiographer license, and ARRT certification, with Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Training in Diagnostic Radiology and credentialing as a Radiographer.
• MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' status and develops a care plan for the patient’s needs.
• Explain the examination and answer questions about the exam and radiation exposure, adhering to ALARA.
• Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
• Practices High Reliability Training.

Position Summary

Performs routine imaging examinations in Diagnostic Radiology on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
• Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
• Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
• Practices High Reliability Training.

Minimum Requirements:

Education

• An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• Training in Diagnostic Radiology

License/Certifications

• MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
