Job summary

Holtec International in Covert, MI is seeking a Radiochemistry Technician to support the Station Sciences organization by performing radiochemistry and laboratory activities essential for safe and reliable plant operation.

The position involves sampling and analyzing plant systems and diesel fuel, maintaining chemistry parameters, calibrating and operating instruments, monitoring trends, and contributing to corrosion control and emergency response efforts.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in chemistry or a related technical degree, Naval Nuclear Power School, Engineering Laboratory Technician School, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides corrosion control.
• Complies with laboratory quality control requirements. Performs instrument calibration and operation. Responds to off-normal conditions. Inputs chemistry data into data management system.
• Maintain chemistry levels within established limits and below action levels.
• Performs data reviews and trending.
• Communicates to chemistry management in a timely manner regarding any issue affecting plant chemistry. Complies with the Chemical Control Program.
• Responds to out-of-specification chemistry. Understands adverse chemistry effects on equipment performance. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
