Job summary

Amtrak in New York is seeking a Radio Maintainer to install, test, repair and program radio equipment at sites in Long Island City. You will perform routine maintenance inspections and support communications systems for our rail network.

The role requires a High School diploma with technical training and 2 years' experience in land mobile radio. Valid driver's license and familiarity with FCC rules are preferred; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with additional technical school training.
• 2 years experience in licensed land mobile radio communications.
• Familiar with FCC rules and regulations; practical knowledge of testing, repairing and maintaining wireless equipment.
• Prefer proficiency with computers and networking.

Responsibilities

• Install base stations, mobile radios, testing and programming of radio equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections of radio sites and other duties as assigned.
