Job summary

DoorDash Labs in San Francisco is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing mission-critical RF/electrical systems for unmanned platforms. You will design, validate and optimize RF hardware, and contribute across the full product lifecycle from concept through production.

You will conduct EMI/desense analysis, perform OTA tests, and mentor partner teams on mitigation strategies, using CST, HFSS and ADS to inform design decisions and ensure robust wireless

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with RF emphasis.
• 6+ years designing and testing RF hardware for mass-produced products.
• Strong fundamentals in front-end RF design and system-level optimization.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (MIPI CSI/DSI, PCIe, DDR).
• Proficient RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs).

Responsibilities

• Lead RF hardware design and validation across the product lifecycle.
• Mentor teams on EMI/EMC mitigation and debugging.
• Perform lab and OTA testing across LTE/5G/Wi‑Fi/GNSS/UWB.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team developing mission-critical RF/electrical systems for unmanned platforms. This role offers a rare opportunity to gain deep insight into RF design and validation, contributing across the full product lifecycle, from early concept and prototyping through production. In this role, you will apply deep expertise in electromagnetic theory and wireless system design to ensure autonomous platforms operate with exceptional reliability and precision. You will design, optimize and validate RF / mixed-signal PCBAs with a strong focus on interference mitigation, troubleshoot system-level desense, and leverage a thorough understanding of wireless technologies including LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, GPS, and UWB.

• Lead the development of innovative solutions that span across RF, Mixed signal and mechanical domain.

• Design RF hardware as well as wireless testbeds to support system validation, and lead the execution and documentation of system-level design and verification

• Provide expertise, mentorship to partner teams regarding EMI mitigation strategies, and cross-functional debug processes

• Characterize EMI caused by internal & external aggressors by tracing root causes using EMC probes, shielding tests, grounding checks, and layout reviews

• Conduct rigorous lab and OTA testing of RF systems, including sensitivity and coexistence evaluations across LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and validate performance against industry standards

• Perform EM simulations using cad tools (CST, HFSS, ADS) to develop deep understanding of product behavior and drive informed design decisions

• Clearly communicate technical challenges, gaps and trade-offs to fellow engineers and executives

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in RF engineering, applied electromagnetics, or wireless systems

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in designing and testing RF hardware for consumer grade mass-produced products

• Strong RF fundamentals with expertise in front-end design, desense analysis and system-level optimization

• Experience working with systems that include high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI / DSI, PCIe, DDR, SDIO / eMMC

• Proficient in the use of RF test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers

• Hands-on expertise in desense mitigation techniques, including shielding, grounding, and filtering, leveraging both simulation and empirical measurement data to drive root cause analysis

• Excellent data analysis, report writing, presentation skills, and desire to work in fast paced environment
