Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking an experienced radio technician in Tallahassee to diagnose, repair, and upgrade two-way radios and related equipment. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, program radios per customer specs, and refurbish devices to meet quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a GROL license, RF systems knowledge, and several years in a radio depot or service center. Strong documentation, MS Office skills, and independent work ability are required.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in radio repair or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of Client radio systems.
• Familiarity with telecommunications test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to disassemble/reassemble devices.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
• Ability to work independently and follow technical procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and upgrade two-way radios and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software using industry-standard procedures.
• Program radios per customer specs and requirements.
• Clean and refurbish equipment to meet quality standards.
• Document repair activities with serial numbers, model numbers, and feature sets.
• Maintain accurate service and repair logs.
• Use test equipment such as Digital Volt Meters (DVM), Service Monitors, and Watt Meters.
• Follow procedures and safety protocols during repair and testing.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely service.
