Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston is seeking a Radiation Therapist to provide highly technical skills in the accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments.

You will operate treatment machines, generate charts from prescriptions and treatment plans, and ensure precise dose calculations and field placement while maintaining strict safety protocols. Collaboration with physicians, physics staff, and nursing team is essential for patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or radiologic graduate of an AMA accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board in Medical Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Operates treatment machines to deliver prescribed dose and rotates to all therapy machines and CT simulator.
• Generates e-chart from physician prescription and treatment plans; reads and implements complex plans.
• Operates CT scanners and treatment machines; ensures accuracy of dose calculations and field placement.
• Maintains written and computerized records of daily treatments and charges.
• Assists in commissioning, calibration, QA, and measurements for system accuracy.
• Prepares and educates patients for radiation therapy; administers treatment and monitors patient.
