Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston seeks a Radiation Therapist, Staff for Radiation Oncology to deliver precise radiation therapy and operate treatment machines and CT simulators. You will generate and interpret treatment plans, ensure safety, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires an associate degree or AMA-accredited Radiologic Therapy program, ARRT certification, Texas license, and BLS. Mon–Fri 8am–5pm; excellent benefits and professional growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or radiologic graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board in Medical Radiologic Technology.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Operates treatment machines to deliver prescribed dose; rotates to all therapy machines and CT simulator.
• Generates e-chart from physician’s prescription and interprets complex treatment plans.
• Operates and manipulates radiation-emitting machines, simulators, and CT scanners.
• Maintains radiation safety for patients and staff; records daily treatments and charges.
• Assists in commissioning, calibration, QA, and physics-related measurements for accuracy.
• Educates patients and administers radiotherapy; monitors during treatment.
• Communicates with health care team; refers to physicians or nurses as needed.
• Trains and evaluates student therapists.
