The University of Miami Health System in Miami, FL is actively seeking a full-time Radiation Therapy Technologist to join the Radiation Oncology Department at UTower. This role focuses on administering and supervising radiotherapy treatments with precise patient positioning and robust safety practices.

Candidates should hold an Associate degree, have a Florida radiation therapy license, and 2+ years of experience, with ARRT and BLS preferred.

Formación

• Associate degree in relevant field required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Radiation Therapy license required
• ARRT certification preferred
• BLS certification required/maintained

Responsabilidades

• Administers doses of radiation to specific body parts according to physician prescriptions.
• Positions patients for treatment with accuracy per prescription.
• Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
• Maintains records including dosages, equipment settings and patient reactions.
• Observes patient progress and reports any signs of complications.
• Follows radiation protection and safety procedures.
• Operates simulation and treatment machines safely and effectively.
• Performs daily machine safety checks and reports abnormalities.
• Constructs immobilization devices and blocking for conformal therapy.
• Uses imaging and planning systems for tumor localization.
• Works with Radiation Oncologist to customize treatment plans.
• Performs simulations per physician orders.
• Troubleshoots equipment to ensure safe patient care.
