Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland is seeking a Radiation Therapist to support the radiation treatment process under the direction of a radiation oncologist. The role involves patient preparation, coordination with the care team, imaging and treatment accuracy, and adherence to ALARA guidelines.

Required education includes a Bachelor’s in Radiation Therapy or equivalent Radiologic Technology pathway with additional therapy training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology program followed by a one-year Radiation Therapy program.
• ARRT certification for radiation therapy; must be registered or registry-eligible; registry-eligible must complete within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review treatment records for completeness.
• Consult with physicians, physics/dosimetry and colleagues as needed.
• Review electronic chart (Aria) and treatment record for accuracy before delivery.
• Prepare treatment room and equipment per procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients per department standards.
• Position patients with established policies and procedures and monitor during treatment.
• Assist in simulation and treatment planning and imaging when necessary.
• Acquire CBCT or portal imaging as prescribed and verify alignment before treatment.

Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Technology with one year Radiation Therapy training
