Job summary

Merit Health Jackson is seeking a Radiation Therapist to accurately deliver prescribed radiation therapy, ensure correct patient positioning, and operate megavoltage equipment under the Radiation Oncologist's direction.

You will collaborate with the clinical team to maintain treatment accuracy, document doses and patient responses, and uphold safety and comfort throughout all treatment steps at Merit Health.

Qualifications

• ARRT-T Radiation Therapist certification required
• State license as Radiologic Technologist where applicable
• BCLS within 30 days of hire required

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy using megavoltage equipment with before-session verifications
• Position patients and adjust equipment per treatment plan and immobilization
• Perform daily QA and warm-up checks on treatment machines
• Conduct CT simulations and obtain portal or verification images per protocols
• Maintain treatment records and document delivered doses and patient responses
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions with clear communication
• Monitor patients during treatment for adverse reactions and report changes
• Adhere to radiation safety and regulatory standards
