Ascension is seeking a Radiation Therapist for the Radiation Oncology department in Pensacola, FL. This full-time, day-shift role involves administering targeted radiation therapy, operating the linear accelerator, and maintaining accurate treatment documentation.

The position requires specific licensure or certification options, a relevant education background, and a minimum of two years of clinical radiation therapy experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire. Valid via AHA or Red Cross.
• One or more licensure/certification options must be met prior to hire: CCI Cardiographic Tech, Florida Radiologic Technologist, ARRT Radiation Therapy, or ARDMS Medical Sonography.
• Education: High School equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
• Two years of clinical radiation therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer targeted radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the body to prescribed radiation doses.
• Operate, maintain, and adjust equipment including the linear accelerator to ensure safety and optimal function.
• Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions.
• Submit high-quality images and documents promptly to meet quality standards.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Administer targeted radiation therapy by expertly exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation.
• Manage advanced technology by operating, maintaining, and adjusting essential equipment, including the linear accelerator, to guarantee optimal function and safety.
• Ensure documentation integrity by maintaining detailed records of all therapy sessions.
• Uphold strict quality standards through the prompt submission of high-quality images and documents.
• Guarantee regulatory compliance by ensuring all professional activities meet or exceed regulatory agency standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Florida Radiologic Technology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Two years of clinical radiation therapy experience.
