Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Radiation Therapy Technologist to deliver accurate radiation treatments to patients at MWH Hospital Radiation Oncology and SHRO, under physician prescription and instructions. The role includes CT simulations, treatment planning support, and collaboration with physicians and physicists.

The position requires ARRT certification or eligibility, BLS certification, and 1–2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
• Registered with the ARRT or equivalent certifying organization or board eligible (must be registered with ARRT or equivalent certifying organization within six (6) months of hire date).
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• One to two year’s relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers radiation treatments to patients per Radiation Oncologist’s orders, with minimal supervision, to provide quality patient care.
• Documents set-up instructions and treatment parameters; records each day’s treatments in ARIA.
• Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement Program and adheres to departmental policies and procedures for quality patient care.
• Performs treatment-related activities including patient transport, scheduling, record keeping, charge capture, chart checks, portal verification, and equipment warm-up/QA checks.
• Performs CT simulations of patients and treatment planning functions.
• Assists physician and physicist with ACCUBOOST brachytherapy treatment delivery.
• Maintains inventory and keeps workspace stocked; ensures safety with proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and/or erratic operations promptly.
