The Staff Radiation Therapist is an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology, responsible for performing radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving X-rays and radioactive substances for patient treatment and simulation. They ensure accurate delivery of prescribed radiation courses, perform quality assessments, and oversee student education and training under the Radiation Therapy Manager.
The Staff Radiation Therapist assists in treatment planning, monitors patients for reactions, observes safety protocols, and participates in education and research activities within the Medical Center. They also conduct quality assessments for the Department of Radiation Oncology.
Ongoing requirements include maintaining registration and licensure, meeting education and health surveillance standards, and demonstrating technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills.
