Job summary

Corewell Health Proton Therapy Center in Royal Oak, MI seeks a Staff Proton Physicist to join the Radiation Oncology team. You will perform and review radiotherapy planning, quality assurance, and clinical service for proton therapy patients under senior supervision.

The role includes research/development and education/training, in collaboration with Medical Physicist leadership and clinical staff. Requires CAMPEP residency or ABR board credentials and proton therapy experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in physics, medical physics or related field.
• Doctorate in Medical Physics or demonstrated equivalency with AMP/NRC authorization.
• CAMPEP-approved Medical Physics residency in Radiation Oncology or 1–2 years related experience.
• ABR CRT Medical Physics or CRT Therapeutic Medical Physics at hire.
• Experience in Proton Therapy clinical service and research is highly desired.

Scope of Work

The Staff Physicist works within the Department of Radiation Oncology. They report to the Chief of Physics and work under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Physics and Medical Physicist Ld. They perform and review all aspects of radiotherapy patient and equipment related planning and quality assurance. The primary responsibility of the Staff Proton Physicist is to assure the best possible treatment is provided to the patients in Proton Therapy Center. The Staff Proton Physicist responsibilities will include clinical service, research/development and education/training based on the assignments from the Chief of Physics and Director of Clinical Physics and Director of Clinical Physics, Medical Physicist Ld, Medical Director of the Proton Therapy Center and Department Chair.

Qualifications

• Required Master's Degree Master's degree or PhD degree in physics, medical physics or related field or
• Required Doctorate Doctorate of Medical Physics or demonstrated equivalency through experience as well as being listed as an Authorized Medical Physicist (AMP) on a Nuclear Regulatory License (NRC).
• 1 year of relevant experience Completion of a CAMPEP approved Medical Physics residency program in Radiation Oncology or 1 - 2 years' experience in a related field desirable. Preferred
• CRT-Medical Physics - ABR American Board of Radiology Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Therapeutic Medical Physics - ABR American Board of Radiology Upon Hire required
• Experience in Proton Therapy Clinical Service and research is highly desired
