Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join an interdisciplinary care team. The role focuses on patient-centered care with nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, in a 1.0 FTE, 40-hour week position.

Responsibilities include assessing patients’ needs, developing care plans, educating patients and families, coordinating with the care team, and integrating research findings into practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• WA RN license or current multistate license with WA residency updated within 60 days.
• Current BLS HCP certification required.
• Oncology experience training and support provided if not already.
• Strong time-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients’ adaptation to health changes.
• Develops a plan of care based on patients’ disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management.
• Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Refers patients, families and caregivers to other clinical resources as appropriate.
• Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care.
• Integrates research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice.
